Dragon Ball GT Anime Quiz | Episodes 41–50: Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons Begin

Mr. Satan tricks Goku into competing in the junior division. Pan advances smoothly through the adult division but withdraws because she does not want to become Satan's successor. She is not eliminated by losing a match; she rejects the position attached to winning.

Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero join forces in Hell and create a new Android 17, sometimes called Hell Fighter 17, as part of their plan to connect Hell with Earth. They do not manufacture Super 17 directly at this point; Super 17 is formed later when the new 17 merges with Earth's Android 17.

Goku is not overpowered in a direct contest. His confidence makes him careless, allowing Frieza and Cell's trap to send him to the bottom of Hell. Their tactical deception, not a fusion or sudden increase in strength, causes the reversal.

Super 17 is created when Earth's Android 17 merges with the new Android 17 developed in Hell by Dr. Myuu and Dr. Gero. Android 18 is not part of the fusion; she later helps Goku exploit Super 17's weakness.

Piccolo requests help from Dende in the Lookout so that Goku can return to Earth from Hell. He does not ask Dende to fight Super 17 directly; their cooperation is meant to create Goku's route back to the battlefield.

Super 17 absorbs the energy of the 10x Kamehameha and grows stronger from it. Continuing to use powerful energy attacks therefore makes the situation worse. The key is not mere reflection but absorption that increases Super 17's own power.

Goku recognizes that Super 17 is vulnerable during energy absorption. Android 18's attacks induce that state, and Goku follows with Dragon Fist. Firing more energy blasts would only strengthen the enemy, so exploiting the timing of the ability and adding a different finishing attack is decisive.

A Black Smoke Dragon first emerges from the cracked Dragon Balls. It then divides into seven Shadow Dragons that scatter around the world. Goku, Pan, and Giru depart both to recover the Dragon Balls and defeat the dragons, rather than confronting all seven in one place.

Goku and Pan use spring water they discover by chance to purify the poison, allowing them to defeat the Two-Star Dragon. Simply increasing Goku's strength would not address paralysis caused by the mist; an environmental counter to the dragon's ability creates the reversal.

After growing by absorbing electricity, the Five-Star Dragon short-circuits in the rain and destroys itself. Poisonous mist belongs to the previous dragon's battle; here, the interaction between the dragon's electrical power source and water becomes its weakness.
