NARUTO Quiz | Episodes 1–19: Team 7 and the Land of Waves Arc

Mizuki is the person who manipulates Naruto into stealing the Scroll of Sealing, while Iruka protects Naruto and acknowledges him as an individual. Naruto defeats Mizuki and receives Iruka's approval to graduate. Reversing the manipulator and the person who understands Naruto changes the meaning of the incident.

Team 7 consists of the genin Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno, led by jonin Kakashi Hatake. Iruka is Naruto's teacher at the Ninja Academy, not the jonin leader of this three-person squad.

The apparent one-person limit is a device that pushes the three students into competition. Kakashi is actually testing the teamwork and concern for comrades that missions require, not their number of memorized techniques or their family backgrounds.

The mission is to protect bridge builder Tazuna on his journey home to the Land of Waves, making it Team 7's first assignment outside the village. Its original objective is to escort the client safely, not to hunt Zabuza.

Gato controls shipping in the Land of Waves and targets Tazuna because the bridge threatens that control. Zabuza appears as an assassin working for Gato's side. The key is not to reverse Tazuna and Gato's interests or Zabuza's employer.

Naruto refuses to flee and proposes a plan to Sasuke. By combining Shadow Clone Jutsu with Transformation Jutsu, they catch Zabuza off guard. Their immediate objective is not to defeat him outright but to force him into a situation where he must release the Water Prison and free Kakashi.

Kakashi focuses on the mismatch between the expected procedure and the boy's action: a hunter-nin should dispose of the body at the scene to protect village secrets, yet the boy carries Zabuza away. That inconsistency suggests rescue rather than execution.

Tree climbing develops precise chakra control and helps the team prepare quickly for the rematch. Tazuna's bridge offers an alternative to the shipping routes controlled by Gato and therefore hope of freeing the people from his domination. The training and the bridge serve different purposes, but both define the stakes of the rematch.

Sasuke's Sharingan begins to awaken during the battle, allowing him to follow Haku's attacks. When Haku targets Naruto, Sasuke shields Naruto with his own body. Seeing Sasuke fall causes Naruto's anger to bring out the power of the Nine Tails. Who protects whom is the key link in the sequence.

Haku shields Zabuza from Kakashi's Lightning Blade and continues to see himself as a tool for Zabuza. Zabuza's reaction reveals that he did care deeply for Haku. After witnessing their lives, Naruto rejects the idea of living as an emotionless tool and resolves to follow his own nindo.
