Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Quiz | Season 1 Episodes 1–13: Cursed Womb Must Die and Young Fish and Reverse Punishment

Fushiguro comes to recover the cursed object in Yuji's possession. Yuji's upperclassmen have already broken its seal, however, and cursed monsters drawn to the object attack them. The crisis caused by the recovery attempt arriving too late is the starting point of Episode 1.

The choice is between immediate execution and death after consuming all 20 fingers of Ryomen Sukuna. The second option does not cancel Yuji's execution. It postpones it so that the scattered fingers can be gathered in Yuji and destroyed together with Sukuna.

Gojo orders Yuji and Nobara to exorcise the curses in an abandoned building. As they search separately, a curse takes a child hostage. This is the first-year assignment depicted in Episode 3, distinct from both the detention-center mission and the cinema case.

Their mission is to confirm and rescue survivors trapped with a cursed womb that may become a Special Grade cursed spirit. Nobara then disappears, and a Special Grade appears beside Yuji and Fushiguro. A rescue operation has escalated into a direct encounter beyond the students' expected ability.

Sukuna removes the heart from Yuji's body and uses it as a hostage. If Yuji's consciousness returns and takes control of the body, Yuji will die without the heart. Fushiguro fights Sukuna to change that situation, not simply as a continuation of the Special Grade exorcism.

Although grieving their teammate, Fushiguro and Nobara begin training with the second-years so they can become stronger. Meanwhile, Yuji, who is believed to be dead, is alive. The point is the gap between what his friends know and the actual situation, not that they knowingly train while concealing his survival.

While comfortably handling Jogo's attacks, Gojo returns to Jujutsu High in an instant and brings the training Yuji back with him. He is not escaping the battle; the detour shows that he has enough control to let Yuji observe it.

The visitors are Kyoto students Aoi Todo and Mai Zenin. Todo overpowers Fushiguro physically, while Nobara reacts against Mai's remarks. Yuji's survival is still being kept from his friends at this point, so this is not the later meeting between Todo and Yuji.

Ijichi's plan is to have a low-level curse attack Junpei and observe his reaction, but it fails. Yuji therefore approaches Junpei directly. Nanami, meanwhile, locates Mahito's hideout and confronts him in a sewer. The key is to keep the two investigative paths distinct.

In Episode 11, Nanami breaks the sewer wall while Yuji bonds with Junpei over movies. In Episode 12, Mahito manipulates Junpei into fighting Yuji. In Episode 13, Nanami saves Yuji and the two coordinate attacks on Mahito. That order captures how the separate plot lines converge in their joint battle.
