Dragon Ball Z Anime Quiz | Episodes 26–35: Goku vs. Nappa and Vegeta

Vegeta did not pause the battle out of mercy. Curious about the strength of Kakarot, who had helped defeat Raditz, he gave the group three hours while waiting for Goku himself—not for the full moon.

Grabbing the tail had drained Raditz's strength, but Nappa had overcome that weakness through training. The plan was based on earlier experience, yet it failed to account for the enemy's preparation.

Piccolo died protecting Gohan. Because Kami shared his life, Kami also died, causing the Earth Dragon Balls created by him to disappear. Piccolo's sacrifice therefore had consequences beyond his own death.

Goku used the Kaio-ken to catch Nappa and strike his back before he could harm Gohan and Krillin. Goku left him alive; Vegeta killed his own incapacitated ally after deciding that Nappa was no longer useful.

Even the double Kaio-ken could not match Vegeta's movement, so Goku exceeded his recommended limit with the triple Kaio-ken. It briefly put him ahead, but badly strained his muscles and stamina.

Goku opposed the Galick Gun with a Kamehameha. When he began to lose the beam struggle, he raised the Kaio-ken to quadruple, exceeding his limit again to prevent Earth's destruction.

Vegeta used a Power Ball that reacted with the atmosphere to produce light equivalent to a full moon. Looking at this artificial moon transformed him into a Great Ape and multiplied his battle power tenfold; the real moon had not returned.

Yajirobe emerged from hiding and severed Vegeta's tail with his sword. The planned maneuver by Krillin and the others had failed, so Yajirobe's separate surprise attack was what ended the Great Ape transformation.

Goku transferred the Spirit Bomb's energy to Krillin, who threw it at Vegeta. Vegeta evaded the first trajectory, but Gohan reflected the incoming ball and redirected it into Vegeta.

Despite the episode title's reference to a Super Saiyan, Gohan actually transformed into a Great Ape after seeing the artificial moon. Vegeta cut off his tail, but could not escape Gohan's huge falling body as he reverted to normal.
