Unlike Earth's Dragon Balls at that time, Namek's Dragon Balls could revive the same person more than once. Krillin and Chiaotzu had each been revived before, but this difference meant that another revival was possible.

Frieza launched one last attack at Goku's back even as Goku was ending the fight and leaving. Goku answered with a blast filled with anger, finally concluding their long struggle. Frieza's self-inflicted injury in Episode 104 had not by itself ended the battle.

After the battle, Goku tried to escape the dying planet aboard Frieza's spaceship. Namek exploded as time ran out, leaving those on Earth uncertain about whether Goku had survived.

Vegeta proposed a two-step process: move their souls to Earth first and revive them afterward. Reversing the order would not solve the original problem, because the initial revival would still occur in outer space.

Garlic Jr. sealed Kami inside a small bottle and released the Black Water Mist, which could turn humans into demons. His invasion combined the capture of Earth's guardian with a means of transforming the population into his servants.

People who inhaled the Black Water Mist turned into demons and began serving Garlic Jr. The threat changed both their bodies and their allegiance; it was not merely a poison or sleeping gas. Gohan and Krillin therefore sought the Sacred Water that could reverse its effects.

Once twenty-four hours had passed after exposure to the Black Water Mist, even the Sacred Water could no longer restore a victim. Defeating the enemy alone was therefore insufficient; the heroes also had to obtain and distribute the Sacred Water before the deadline.

When Zald exploited Gohan's opening, Krillin sacrificed his own safety to protect Gohan. Gohan did not simply evade every attack by himself; his companion's intervention kept the blow from becoming fatal.

The plan was to pour the Sacred Water into the opening at the bottom of the Lookout, where air currents from around the world converge. Reaching it required passing through the dangerous Sacred Realm, where the tombs of former Guardians lay.

Kami and Piccolo are two halves of one being, and their lives are linked. When Kami was endangered in the Sacred Realm, the effect reached Piccolo on the separate battlefield, draining his strength and making his body semitransparent. Garlic Jr.'s attack did not directly cause the transparency.
