Krillin headed to Guru to obtain the password, while Dende headed toward Gohan and the others to deliver that information. Frieza realized that Nail's battle had been a delaying tactic and also rushed after the Dragon Balls, so the three movements unfolded at the same time around a common objective.

Porunga could grant three wishes, but at this point each wish could revive only one dead person. His abilities were enhanced later, so this limitation should not be confused with the later Porunga's ability to revive multiple people at once.

The first wish revived Piccolo, and the second transported the revived Piccolo, who was then on Earth, to Namek. Revival did not automatically place him on the battlefield, so separate wishes were needed to accomplish both goals.

Guru, who had created Porunga, died immediately before the third wish. Porunga vanished and the Dragon Balls lost their power. As a result, neither Vegeta's desired immortality nor Frieza's desired eternal life was granted.

The dying Nail proposed that Piccolo fuse with him to gain much greater power. Piccolo accepted, combining their strength within one warrior; they did not remain separate fighters who later fought side by side.

Frieza's first transformation produced his much larger second form, with enlarged horns and a stated Power Level of over one million. His smaller appearance belongs to the later final form, so the sequence should not be reversed merely on the basis of body size.

Seeing his friend injured caused Gohan to release a temporary surge of power that surprised Frieza. The assault did not defeat him, however, and Frieza raised his power further. A momentary advantage and victory in the battle were not the same thing.

Krillin cut off Frieza's tail with the Destructo Disc and drew him away from Gohan. Dende used that time to heal Gohan with his restorative ability. The attack and healing were not unrelated actions; the diversion created the opportunity for the rescue.

After fusing with Nail, Piccolo initially fought Frieza's second form on roughly equal terms. Once Frieza reached his third form, he overwhelmed Piccolo again, so Piccolo's post-fusion strength cannot be generalized to every form of Frieza.

When Piccolo removed his weighted clothing and matched or surpassed the second form, Frieza advanced to his third form and overwhelmed him. After also repelling Gohan's full-power attack, Frieza took his final form and prioritized eliminating Dende, who could heal the fighters. Each change responded to the threat immediately before it.
