Eren feels hypocritical about saving someone he knows he will later kill, yet he cannot abandon Ramzi in front of him. The rescue itself unfolds as his memories showed, reinforcing his belief that the future will not change. His apology is not a promise that Ramzi will survive; it expresses his guilt over the massacre he knows he will cause.

Hange chooses Armin as successor because he does not give up on pursuing understanding, then remains behind to slow the approaching Titans. Hange defeats only a small part of the Rumbling, but the extra time allows emergency repairs and takeoff. The act combines a transfer of command with a sacrifice intended to preserve the force needed to reach Eren.

Falco is the Jaw Titan's inheritor, but he first became a Pure Titan through Zeke's spinal fluid, causing Beast-like traits to appear in his Titan. A memory of a past Beast Titan in flight gives him the clue to attempt a winged form. He does not inherit the Beast Titan itself from Zeke.

Targeting Zeke is reasonable because killing him may sever Eren's connection to royal blood and stop the Rumbling. The body Reiner defeats, however, is an empty replica made by a method resembling the War Hammer Titan's power. Zeke's actual location remains unknown, forcing the group to revise its attack.

Armin recalls racing his friends toward a tree and argues that moments without a larger purpose can give life meaning. An object in the sand looks like a dried leaf to Armin but a baseball to Zeke, reminding Zeke of playing catch with Ksaver. Armin does not persuade him by promising immortality.

Zeke reaches out to past inheritors in the Paths, and their Titans defy the Founder's side to assist Armin's allies. Zeke then exposes himself and allows Levi to kill him, severing the connection to royal blood and halting the Wall Titans. Eren and Titan power have not yet disappeared at this point.

Levi sends himself and Mikasa, both Ackermans, and Pieck, a Titan inheritor, away on Falco, who is also an inheritor. Subjects of Ymir left behind, including Jean, Conny, and Gabi, become Pure Titans. The deciding condition is not nationality but Ackerman status or possession of one of the Nine Titans.

Eren earlier links the headaches to an Ackerman's supposed instinct to obey a host. In the end, however, Mikasa understands that Ymir has been peering into her mind. Unable to let go of King Fritz herself, Ymir watches Mikasa love Eren yet choose to end their relationship by killing him. The headaches are not proof of physiological submission to Eren.

Zeke's death severs the royal-blood connection and stops the Rumbling, but it does not end Titan power. That power disappears only after Mikasa chooses to kill Eren. Jean, Conny, Gabi, and the others return from Pure Titans to human form, while Reiner, Annie, and the other inheritors lose their Titan abilities.

The disappearance of Titan power does not automatically remove fear between states or the threat of retaliation. Armin's group approaches as a peace delegation, not as military occupiers. They hope the people of Paradis will at least listen to the story of why people who once tried to kill one another now arrive together to ask for peace.
