Marley wins the war, but anti-Titan guns prove effective even against one of the Nine Titans, including the heavily protected Armored Titan. The result shows that technological progress is narrowing the advantage behind Marley's military power. Titans do not become instantly useless, but recovering the Founder becomes more urgent before Marley falls behind.

The wounded soldier is Eren in disguise, and Falco's letters reach Eren's allies from Paradis. By bringing Reiner to the basement, Falco also makes possible the reunion and attack unfolding alongside the declaration of war. Falco does not understand the plan he is helping to prepare.

Lara Tybur is protected in a crystal underground and controls the War Hammer through a cable. Eren severs that connection and locates her, but cannot break the crystal himself. He therefore uses the Jaw Titan's powerful jaws to crush it and consumes Lara, inheriting the War Hammer Titan.

Gabi boards the airship and shoots Sasha, who dies from the wound. Meanwhile, Zeke is alive aboard the aircraft despite appearing to fall to Levi, revealing that he has cooperated with the Paradis side in the raid. The scene combines a major human loss with a reversal in the apparent alliances.

The Volunteers use radio communication to lure later Marleyan survey ships into traps and provide knowledge for projects such as the port and railway. Nicolo's cooking also creates personal contact across enemy lines. This does not mean every Volunteer knows all of Yelena's secret plans.

The plan demonstrates a limited Rumbling to deter attack while Hizuru helps Paradis modernize. Until that deterrent is no longer needed, the island must preserve both the Founding Titan and a Titan held by someone of royal blood. The burden this places on Historia and her descendants is one of the plan's major costs.

Eren's supporters conceal a bomb in a chair delivered to Zachary's office and assassinate him. After leaving his cell, Eren joins Floch and the other supporters and orders them to locate Zeke, whose royal blood is relevant to the Founder's power. The military names these internal defectors the Jaegerists.

Artur refuses to kill the child who killed his daughter. He argues that adults must bear the sins of the past and keep children from wandering in the same forest of violence. Nicolo then reveals his suspicion that the wine served to officers contains Zeke's spinal fluid. Falco does not transform immediately, but he has been exposed to a future danger.

The wine is a short-term coercive tool: those who ingest Zeke's spinal fluid can be transformed by his scream, giving him leverage over the military. The euthanasia plan is separate and broader. It would use the Founder to make all Subjects of Ymir infertile, ending the birth of future inheritors. Serving the wine alone does not complete that plan.

When asked to identify the enemy, Pieck points at Eren himself. Porco attacks from below and Marley's airship force arrives overhead, revealing the supposed defection as a setup. Pieck does not fully trust Marley's system, but her loyalty to the comrades who have fought beside her drives the operation.
