Attack on Titan Anime Quiz | Season 3 Part 1 Episodes 38–49: the Royal Government, the Reiss Family, and Historia's Coronation

Kenny is not a Titan; he commands a maneuvering unit designed to fight humans. His clash with Levi is a lethal battle between people using maneuvering equipment and firearms. Both the enemy and the weapons differ from the earlier fights against Titans.

Rod Reiss is the man who claims to be Historia's father. Meanwhile, Hange extracts information about the Reiss family from a captured Military Police officer. Elsewhere, Erwin meets Pyxis, so information and policy are moving on several fronts at once.

Marlo is the one who offers to cooperate. Although he belongs to the Military Police, he has doubts about its methods. Jean does not trust him immediately and remains suspicious enough to threaten him with a knife after Levi places the two detainees in Jean's custody.

Eren sees a memory of his father, Grisha Jaeger, attacking the Reiss family five years earlier. It is not a memory of Eren himself attacking the chapel or of Kenny breaking the Wall. The revelation deepens Eren's guilt about the power inherited from his father.

According to Rod, the power once inherited by the Reiss family is now inside Eren. He intends for Historia to become a Titan and inherit both that power and the world's memories from Eren. The plan is not merely for her to guard him.

Historia rejects her father's script and tries to free Eren and escape. After the plan collapses, Rod absorbs Titan serum spilled on the floor and becomes an enormous Titan. Historia is not the person who transforms in this scene.

Eren consumes the serum marked ‘Armor,’ transforms, and hardens his Titan body to reinforce the collapsing cavern. His friends survive, and the success suggests that hardening can also seal a breach in a Wall. This action does not defeat Rod's Titan on the spot.

The residents are left in place not because sacrificing them is the objective, but because their presence draws Rod's Titan to Orvud, where it can be confronted. The plan must protect central Wall Sina while also completing the defense without a single civilian casualty.

After personally finishing Rod's Titan, Historia declares before the soldiers and residents that she is the true ruler. Elsewhere, Kenny lies mortally wounded from the chapel's collapse and shows Levi a syringe containing Titan serum. Kenny does not use it to recover.

Levi advises the injured Erwin not to take part. Erwin refuses because he cannot surrender the chance to witness the moment when the truth of the world is revealed. He chooses to join the operation rather than cancel it.
