Having survived the Spirit Bomb, Frieza attacked the others and caused Krillin to explode in midair. Seeing Krillin die pushed Goku's anger past its limit and triggered his awakening as a Super Saiyan. Vegeta's death also contributed to Goku's anger, but Krillin's death was the immediate trigger in this scene.

Goku told Gohan to take Piccolo to the spaceship and return to Earth. Gohan later had to find Bulma so that they could all escape. Goku assigned him the task of removing the injured fighter and their companions from danger, not joining the battle.

Super Saiyan Goku evaded Frieza's beams in succession and launched a fierce counterattack. For Frieza, whose superiority had once seemed unquestionable, the failure of his attacks presented an unprecedented threat and began to shake his confidence. The battle was not yet over at this point.

Frieza struck the planet's core but reduced the attack's power because he feared being caught in an immediate explosion. The destruction was delayed rather than prevented, creating roughly five minutes before Namek's end. It was not the result of Goku blocking the attack.

King Kai prioritized survival and urged Goku to exploit the opening. Goku instead chose to defeat Frieza at full power and avenge Krillin. He did not overlook the safer tactic; he rejected it because he valued a complete resolution of the battle.

Earth's Shenron revived those killed by Frieza and his forces. Guru was included among them, and his return restored Namek's Dragon Balls and Porunga. Revival and evacuation were not both performed by the same dragon in a single wish.

Gohan sensed Goku's energy vanish and concluded that his father had been defeated, so he returned to help him. He did not forget the evacuation order; he made a dangerous decision based on new information. Bulma tried to prevent him from leaving.

Goku chose to remain so that he could settle his battle with Frieza. The wish therefore excluded Goku and Frieza and moved everyone else to Earth. Goku was not left behind because the transportation failed; he specifically requested the exclusion.

Maintaining full power drained Frieza's energy and robbed his attacks of their force and effectiveness. Goku gradually overwhelmed him and concluded that the contest was decided. The gap grew because Frieza could not sustain his full-power form, not because Goku received power from an outside source.

Frieza launched disc-shaped energy projectiles that pursued Goku and ignored Goku's warning as he continued the attack. Unable to respond to the path of his own technique, Frieza cut through his own body. Goku did not directly sever him, which is why the episode presents the outcome as Frieza's self-inflicted defeat.
