The Power Pole served as a link between the top of Karin Tower and Kami's Palace far above it. Goku inserted the pole at the tower's summit, extended it upward, and climbed. An object that appeared to be only a weapon was also the key connecting the two locations.

The two had originally been one person. To become Earth's guardian, that person expelled the evil from his heart; the good side became Kami, while the expelled evil became King Piccolo. This origin explains the deep connection between both their appearance and their lives.

The wish revived those killed by King Piccolo and his forces, including Krillin, Master Roshi, and Chiaotzu. Repairing Shenron alone did not restore the victims, so the group used the regathered Dragon Balls to bring the dead back to life.

Tao was disqualified for using a concealed blade and still attempted to destroy Tien with the Super Dodon Ray. Tien neutralized the attack and knocked Tao unconscious. The match also marked Tien's final break with the assassin associated with his former Crane School path.

As a child, Goku had promised to take Chi-Chi as his bride while mistakenly thinking marriage was a kind of food. Once he recognized her at the tournament, he learned what the promise actually meant but still honored it and publicly agreed to marry her.

Goku's gi, boots, and wristbands were weighted training gear with a combined mass of 100 kilograms. Once he removed that burden, Goku displayed the speed he had kept hidden and surpassed Tien. The shift came from a change in Goku's conditions, not from Tien suddenly becoming weaker.

The fighter called Shen was Kami using a human body. Because Kami's life was linked to Majunior's, simply killing Majunior would also kill Kami. Kami therefore entered the tournament intending to use the Mafu-ba, which could seal his opponent in a container without killing him.

Majunior used a Mafu-ba reversal, exchanging the roles of the one sealing and the one being sealed. Kami was trapped in the bottle, which Majunior swallowed to prevent Goku and the others from taking it. The technique did not simply fail; its target was reversed.

When Majunior grew large enough for Goku to enter through his mouth, Goku went inside. His objective was not to attack Majunior internally, but to recover the swallowed bottle. By carrying it back outside, Goku made it possible to release Kami.

Although his limbs were injured, Goku revealed that he could still move through the air. He used flight to evade Majunior's finishing attack, then rammed the exhausted opponent out of bounds to claim his first championship. The tournament rules decided the match; Goku did not kill Majunior.
