One Piece Anime Quiz | Episodes 31–40: Arlong Park, Nami and Bellemere's Past, and the Fish-Man Officers

Luffy and Sanji head to Arlong Park after Nami, who departed aboard the Going Merry. They do not yet know the full story of her past or her bargain with Arlong. Their immediate objective is to recover their companion and their ship.

Zoro wants to discover whether his former companion has genuinely returned to Arlong's side. If he begins to drown while bound, Nami must either save him or abandon him. Her rescue reveals intentions that do not match the cold-hearted officer she pretends to be.

Zoro uses Arlong's absence as an opportunity to defeat the fish-men remaining at Arlong Park. When he learns that Usopp has been captured, he tries to have Hatchan take him to Cocoyasi Village. This is not an action taken after defeating Arlong; it is a counterattack that leads into a rescue attempt.

Nami wounds her own hand, not Usopp. She uses the blood to make his supposed killing convincing, deflecting the Arlong Pirates' suspicions while allowing Usopp to escape into the sea. The key distinction is between her apparent betrayal and the protective action she actually takes.

Nami's dream is to see the world for herself and draw a world map. Arlong later exploits her cartographic talent, but he did not give her the dream itself. It was Nami's own aspiration before his rule began.

Even when concealing the children could have allowed her to survive, Bellemere refuses to deny her family bond with Nami and Nojiko. Declaring that she has two daughters is not a miscalculation about the money; it is her decision not to erase the truth of their life as a family.

Nezumi is not acting as a neutral law-enforcement officer; he is colluding with Arlong when he seizes Nami's hidden money. Taking the funds just before she can fulfill the bargain lets Arlong preserve the appearance of an offer while continuing his rule. The failure is not caused by Nami wasting the money or simply falling short.

Luffy fixes his feet in stone to create an anchor while swinging Momoo. The attack succeeds, but he cannot pull his feet free. Arlong cuts the anchored section away and throws Luffy into the sea with it, turning the preparation for a powerful attack into a potentially fatal danger for a Devil Fruit user.

Zoro borrows a sword from both Yosaku and Johnny, combining them with Wado Ichimonji to restore his Three Sword Style. He needs the loan because he lost two swords against Mihawk. His goal is to recover the form of his own swordsmanship, not to match Hatchan's six blades in number.

A prolonged contest underwater favors the fish-man and leaves the human Sanji at a severe breathing disadvantage. Sanji reverses that advantage by blowing air into Kuroobi's gills and escaping while Kuroobi is in distress. He then returns to land and defeats him with his strongest weapon: his kicks.
