Inside Laboon's stomach is an artificial space made to resemble an open blue sky, and Crocus appears there after killing a giant squid. Crocus is neither a member of the Going Merry's crew nor a Marine jailer; he is the man who has watched over Laboon for many years.

After attacking Garp, Morgan takes his own son Helmeppo hostage and escapes. He exploits their family relationship; he does not use Coby as a shield, nor does Garp deliberately release him.

Coby and Helmeppo do not end their day after completing their chores; they voluntarily continue training at night. Although Garp's instruction is harsh, their self-directed effort toward the goal of becoming officers is the key point.

Little Garden is a prehistoric island inhabited by ancient plants and dinosaurs, and Luffy and Vivi encounter a brontosaurus during their exploration. Laboon appeared at the Twin Capes, while the Millennium Dragons appeared around Warship Island in the preceding story.
